Eden Hazard has stressed the importance of having David Luiz in the Chelsea squad following the Brazilian’s much talked about fall-out with manager Antonio Conte.
The centre-back was omitted from Chelsea’s matchday squad to face Manchester United in the final game before the international break, with Andreas Christensen taking his place in the starting XI and Ethan Ampadu his place on the bench.
Conte insisted that the decision was purely tactical, though after beating United he surprisingly said he ‘did not know’ if Luiz still had a future at the club and challenged him to work hard to win back his place.

Luiz has been permitted to return to training with the rest of the first team by Conte, though his place in the squad remains in doubt with the pair having been at odds since September.
It all came to a head after Chelsea surprisingly shipped three goals in back-to-back games against Roma, giving one of their worst ever performances under Conte.
They recovered to beat United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge despite Luiz’s absence, with the win seen as a massive political victory for Conte both in his disagreement with Luiz and the club’s hierarchy.
